Habitat House Project - 2003 (Chairperson - Cecil Yount)
The impressive ground breaking ceremony for this year's house took place on March 2nd (2003) on Vance Street, with over 35 local citizens attending, according to the Waynesville Mountaineer article of March 3rd.

The objective of the Habitat House Project is to provide a house for a deserving family. This year's recipient is the Gamez family, and they proudly attended the ground breaking ceremony. This project is a cooperative, joint venture between the three Rotary Clubs in Waynesville and the Haywood County Realtor's Association. The lot was donated by Kay and Charles Talman, Rotary Sunrise Club members. A committee selects the winning family based upon specific requirements.

The Dedication of the Habitat House occurred in February 2004.
