The Board of Directors of the Waynesville Rotary Club Foundation, Inc. met on February 20, 2009.

Attending this meeting were Neal Ensley, Ed LaFountaine, Max Kimel, Bill Bird and Patsy Rogers. Rotarian Glen Tolar was also in attendance. Absent from the meeting was Don Eudy and Larry Leatherwood.

The meeting was called to order by President Neal Ensley. There was a quorum present to conduct business. President Neal also asked if there was a “conflict of interest” from any board member concerning the business to be conducted. All members stated no conflict.

The minutes of December 19 meeting were approved unanimously with a motion from by Bill Bird and a 2 nd to the motion by Ed LaFountaine. There are no minutes for January meeting, no quorum present to conduct business. Notes were taken of the discussion.

Old Business:

A complete copy of Form 1023, Recognition of Exemption under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service has been given to the Secretary for permanent record keeping.

Letter of Acknowledgment:

Bill Bird stated all donations for 2008 have been acknowledged. The board still needs to approve a format for a letter for future acknowledgments.

Rotary Foundation/History/Birthday Info

President Neal gave the board members a copy of the history of the Rotary Foundation to review. This is a history he wrote to be published in the bulletin. He asks members to review and edit before the next meeting.

He also suggested we ask to have the Rotarians that are currently giving to the Birthday Fund to be listed in the Program of Service next year.

All members are asked to start making calls to the non-giving members of the Birthday Fund by the meeting in March. A motion by Bill Bird and a 2 nd to the motion by Ed LaFountaine stated to ask for the annual donation of current age each year with a maximum of $60 cap. The motion was approved unanimously. Please contact Tony to bill the account when the member agrees to participate.

The next meeting will be March 20, 2009.

There was no other business, the meeting was adjourned.
