WAYNESVILLE ROTARY FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS' MEETING!

The Board of Directors of the Waynesville Rotary Foundation, Inc. met on January 15, 2010 at Laurel Ridge Country Club.  Attending this meeting was Larry Leatherwood, Mark Bumgarner, Mark Clasby, Cecil Yount, Patsy Rogers, Ed LaFountaine, Neal Ensley, Bill Bird and Billy Case.   Absent was Max Kimel.

President Neal Ensley called the meeting to order with a quorum present to conduct business.  All the members stated a “no conflict of interest” for business being conducted in the meeting.

The minutes of the October meeting were approved with a motion by Larry Leatherwood/2nd by Billy Case.  There were no minutes/business conducted for the November meeting due to no quorum.  The December meeting was cancelled due to weather conditions.

Birthday Scholarship Funds:
Cecil Yount addressed the board with concerns that he does not have an accurate list of the contributing members for the Birthday Scholarship Fund.   He also asked if there should be a separate billing for the Birthday Scholarship Fund and the payments made directly to the Foundation.

After much discussion, the board unanimously agreed the billing statement should still come through the club bill quarterly and acknowledged once a year by the Foundation.  It was also agreed, the since the current list may not be accurate, we would contact each member and have a form signed indicating their desire to participate with the contribution.  Neal Ensley will write a brief summary for the form stating why this fund exists and how it is used.    This will distributed to the club members in the next couple of weeks.   It is the goal of the Foundation Board for every member of the Rotary Club to participate in this worthwhile project.

Bill Bird gave the financial report (attached).  The Foundation has total assets of $116,780.82.  He also mentioned Haywood Community College gave a donation to Manna Back Pack fund in honor of Dr. Rose Johnson.

The next meeting will be February 19, 2010 at Noon, Laurel Ridge Country Club.

There was no other business, the meeting was adjourned.
