Waynesville Rotary meets on Fridays at 1:00 p.m. at the Laurel Ridge Country Club off of exit 100 of the Great Smokies Expressway

The Board of Directors of the Waynesville Rotary Foundation, Inc. met on September 16, 2011 at Laurel Ridge Country Club.  Attending this meeting were Neal Ensley, Patsy Rogers, Larry Leatherwood, Mark Bumgarner.   Absent board members were Ed LaFountaine and Billy Case. Also attending was Glen Tolar.

President Larry Leatherwood called the meeting to order with a quorum present to conduct business.  All members stated a “no conflict of interest” for business being conducted at the meeting.

The minutes of the August 18, 2011 meeting were approved unanimously with a motion by Mark Bumgarner and a 2nd by Neal Ensley.

Mark Bumgarner gave a financial report (see attached).  The foundation has $101,103.32 in a certificate of deposit and $12,185.39 in a money market checking account.  The board unanimously approved to renew the certificate with HomeTrust Bank for a rate of 1.05% for 12 months with a motion by Neal Ensley and a 2nd to motion by Mark Bumgarner.

Scholarships:
Krista Shalda and Brian Baltzell were honored at a lunch meeting as recipients of the scholarships for this year from the Haywood Community College Foundation.  Elizabeth Buchanan, the third recipient could not attend the lunch meeting and will come at a later date.

Larry will contact the Haywood County School Foundation and ask for the recipients to attend a lunch meeting when they are home for Christmas Holiday.

Board Vacancy:
Due to the resignation of Max Kimel, the vacancy will be filled with the next person on the list from the vote of the Rotary Club.  Larry Leatherwood will follow up with this vacancy.

The next meeting will be held on October 21, 2011 at Laurel Ridge Country Club.

There was no other business.  The meeting was adjourned.
